Matt began his career with McGriff in 2001 directly after graduating from the University of Georgia where he obtained a B.B.A. In addition to leading the Atlanta office of McGriff, Matt specializes in the planning, placement and servicing of large insurance and risk management programs. He has significant experience in multi-national programs and the development & coordination of captive insurance companies. He has been published in several industry publications and has participated in professional panels across the Country. Matt is heavily involved in RIMS and serves as a mentor for Undergraduate students in the Atlanta RIMS Chapter.
Michael Chouinard
McGriff, Vice President – Atlanta
Mike began his career in the insurance industry in 2012 after graduating from Pittsburg State University with a degree in business administration and minor in accounting. He started his career in the commercial insurance department at Lockton, where he was charged with assisting with the renewal and day-to-day service for each of his clients. Since 2022 Mike has worked for McGriff Insurance Services Inc. filling the role of VP, Marketing Account Executive. Mike's responsibilities include marketing or consultative marketing of large complex property renewals. Mike's expertise crosses into most commercial insurance industries, with a specialization in large manufacturing, commercial real estate and hospitality portfolios.
Martha Basco

As a Client Executive for McGriff, Martha brings collaboration with strategy to her clients, executives, brokers, and industry partners. She shares her 20 years’ experience and industry knowledge as a Director of Risk while assisting clients with both simple and complex matters. Martha’s unique perspective and background provides invaluable support for programs in transition or those without permanent risk managers. She is continuously seeking solutions to complex insurance matters, risk control and claim challenges. Martha graduated from DePaul University in Chicago, Il. She began her career working at The Hartford. She has served various positions on the Carolinas RIMS Board.
