Greetings and welcome to the Atlanta Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS), Inc. website. It is my pleasure to serve as the 2022-23 Atlanta RIMS Chapter President. I am humbled by the opportunity to support the chapter in this capacity, and I look forward to continuing the tradition of demonstrating strong leadership, continuously improving membership development, presenting timely and beneficial Risk Management updates, and fostering existing and new relationships.

Founded in 1957, the Atlanta RIMS Chapter is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting the profession of Risk Management. The Chapter is composed of local Risk Manager volunteers from various industries and disciplines that devote their time and efforts to promote risk and insurance locally, nationally, and internationally. Although Atlanta is truly a large international city, the risk management community is rather small but well connected due to the many efforts of the Atlanta RIMS Chapter.

Our state is certainly front and center in the Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) universe when it comes to producing quality risk management programs and developing the next generation of risk management professionals. As such, the Atlanta RIMS Chapter is extremely proud of the close relationships we have with local risk management programs, as well as, the Spencer Educational Foundation. The Atlanta RIMS board has RMI endowments in place for both UGA and GSU and contributes annually to Spencer as well, promoting scholarship and continued education throughout the Risk and Insurance industry.

Although the COVID-19 pandemic altered many of our plans over the past couple of years, we have continued to exceed expectations in all areas and were honored to receive the Chapter of the Year award in 2022 as well as the 2021 winner of a RIMS ECHO Award presented by RIMS, the risk management society™.  From the creation of a DE&I position on our board, continuing to provide mentoring to students through our Mentoring Program, participation in our Golf, Tennis, & Cornhole tournament and returning to an in-person Education Conference in 2022, the Atlanta Chapter is unmatched in our contributions to the risk and insurance community. 

To our board, sponsors, members, and friends THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for your time, effort and monetary contributions.  The recognitions we have received and the contributions we have been able to make to the Risk management and Insurance industry would not be possible without your support.  As the Risk Management industry is constantly changing, we will continue to need your creativity and energy in order to stay front and center in navigating the evolving risk management and insurance landscape. Therefore, I encourage you to stay engaged, get involved and collaborate with us so that we can meet the needs of our Chapter.  We are always looking for risk professionals who are motivators, strategic thinkers, and dynamic communicators to get involved with our committees.
